@ch00n’s car was being moody all weekend so we couldn’t go anywhere. Today we just HAD to do something about not having transport. Like an angel, my landlord came down and suggested we go out for lunch – he drove. We had to sit through a really torturous slow drive that normally takes us 15 minutes get to, but took us nearly 45 minutes today. Sigh, how we missed being mobile today.
What made it worse, there is construction taking place on almost all of Cape Town’s freeways. We were all hungry and decided it would be quicker to take the N1 highway to Pizza Grill King (PGK) in Goodwood. › Continue reading

Made a new last.FM image chart using the chart builder. The my recently played tracks can be seen in a chart style and updated automatically. The purpose was to have a image chart inserted as html onto the sidebar of this site; instead of a plain rss on as previously. A preview of the image is shown below – Click on the thumbnail for a better view:

Nearly two years since I first went to see what the buzz was about at this Caribbean restaurant down the road. I remember driving by that place (that was once a house) and seeing all the renovations being done and wondered what the place would eventually turn out to be.
Was thrilled to hear that it was another restaurant and it had such a cool name: Jamaica me Crazy.
Tonight after probably attending for the fiftieth time, I described the food as Heavenly and simply felt the need to compliment their amazing food and also for always making want to go back there again. Hell I even got a very fussy friend liking the place so much, he decided to have his 30th birthday there!
We all know what Mondays can be like at the office; that’s right, ![]()

Two great documentary releases, Zeitgeist: The Movie and Zeitgeist: Addendum, is currently screening at the Labia theatre in Cape Town.
As reviewed by the Labia theatre “…is the mind-blowing documentary by Peter Joseph, and is the most viewed motion picture on the internet …The award-winning movie takes a staggering look at the lies sold to the world via media, politicians, bankers and those standing to benefit.”
“Its follow-up, ZEITGEIST: ADDENDUM, focuses on the shocking truth behind the monetary system, and › Continue reading

As the annual New York African Film Festival draws to a close, I realise I have not blogged about this nor congratulated a friend who’s film premiered at the festival this year.
The 16th annual film festival, was held 08 to 15 April 2009 and will continue again from 22 to 25 May 2009.
The 2009 New York African Film Festival, presented under the banner “Africa in Transition,” takes an introspective journey across the African continent with films that create a vision of Africa’s future through a deconstruction of its past.
It has been 15 years since South Africa’s first all-race democratic elections. In mid-April of this year, South Africa will go to the polls for the fourth time since the end of Apartheid.
With Nelson Mandela long retired, a new generation of leaders governs the country and grapples to maintain the grand ideals that drove the struggle against Apartheid. It is both the best of times, and the most challenging of times!
The films in this year’s New York African Film Festival speak to these challenges.

I need to set the mood for you firstly…
Its a Wednesday morning, 10:45, you on your way back from the tea room/kitchen at work, that cup of filter coffee in hand that you been looking forward to all morning, a deadline next week, you tired, miserable, its a beautiful day and all you can think of is “damn you students for being on holiday; I’m here slaving away doing your marks…”
Then someone says to you: “Ana, naai man, what you doing to the poor statue” and you look all puzzled and turn around and you see this…
… bwaah ha ha ha ha ha ha
The loudest, most pleasant laugh , and out loud, in a building that echoes. I immediately ran to my office to get my cellphone, left the coffee right there and snapped away … CLASSIC! but this outburst certainly made my day…thanks to the prankster …whoever you are.
